fandom_me: Meta - I get concerned when people are talking to me about *their* fantasies, and what they want, and it's clear that they don't have any idea what the reality is, or how to start, or where to look or how to be *safe* outside that fictional setting. -- naominovik: more about the OTW - The OTW does not at all oppose the derivative works right that allows copyright owners to authorize a mass-market film adaptation, for instance[...]We do however support a broad understanding of fair use to protect fanworks -

It's times like these that remind me, beyond anything else, how uninformed the 'public' is. - telesilla: So Many Mixed Feelings - So here I sit, intrigued by the idea, sympathetic of the people who are trying to chart a course through stormy fannish waters while trying to do something they think will be of value for fandom and concerned about the course they're charting. -
