It's an event where people volunteer to give presents to people they may not even know. It's an opportunity for authors to stretch themselves and write in fandoms, styles or pairings they may not have ever written before. It's a fannish event with no downside, really. So I think it's important for everyone to try really hard NOT to be The Thing That Ruins Yuletide."

Do you make a difference between working with chapters and dividing a story up in parts or segments in some other way that you're going to explain to me in comments? How long does a story have to be for you to conceptualize it in chapters? Do you like to work with cliff-hanger chapter endings?"
