elspethdixon in fanficrants- Bonfire of the Digital Vanities - Yes, it's possible for you to have your pages excluded from/removed from the Wayback Machine, but just because you can use robots.txt doesn't mean you should, unless there are pressing legal reasons. I personally find it more than just annoying. I've come to realize, as I searched for a particular author's fic this evening with steadily mounting irritation, that I actually find it offensive.

veejane - Linguistic Sleuthing - Something Awful is reputed to have picked up a specific sentence, im in ur base killing ur doods, at some point early in this decade. The story is that it was an actual phrase typed by one player to another, then screencapped and put on the web for everyone to mock.

iscaris - Write-On-Demand - Except I think this emphasis on rushing out your story and finishing it within a month (or at least, trying to) can be counter-productive, since pushing oneself to write so furiously and copiously may result in the backlash of burnout and/or the dreaded writer's block, or make the writer so frustrated and fed up with the NaNoWriMo story that, even if it's finished or close to completion, they don't want to touch it again for edits or rewrites For A Really Long Time.
