It's been... interesting... trying to communicate with people who (1) just don't "get" fandom, and (2) have no idea why anyone would defend "those perverts." And, of course, several of them have unclear ideas about the laws involved. But they do mention that it's not so much about laws as "that is just WRONG. Eww. I don't want to hear any defense of it."
Please, don't swarm him/them with defenses of slash or whatever. But fen should occasionally see what we look like to intelligent, articulate non-fen.
