lightgetsin: Doctor Who and life and death - So thatâ™s the series. You can live or you can die. Living is better, because life is hope and all that. But both have a price, and it must be paid. The good guys pay it themselves. -
thedeadparrot: Re: current fandom situation - On a vaguely related topic, I want to say that I hate the bad rap crackfic gets. Not to mention how many people mislabel their fics by calling it crack. But that's a separate rant. -
leiascully: the death of Housefic already? - Seriously, what is with the Houseficdom these days? People like moony just bitch and moan about how nobody writes good fic. That's been going on more and more lately, and I wish it would stop. -
hieronymousb: what angst and tragedy are, for me - I delight in reading about psychologies so hurt and disturbed that they cannot recognize or accept basic self-help patterns and thus dig themselves deeper into their own destruction while readers look on helplessly, knowing everything will not be okay -
kore_haiga: This Fanfic Meta, It Was A Long Time Coming - your dislike of slash fiction is obvious. You don't like it because it isn't your cup of tea and this is perfectly acceptable-- however, please stop justifying your personal tastes by insulting my own ability as a writer and... my character as a person. -
beccaelizabeth: The really important things: Naming characters - Martha is a good name for a sidekick. Short and to the point, can be shouted quickly, but not too quickly, and has that useful aaaaaaaa on the end for when they're really really in danger. -
simple__man: I can no longer keep quiet...FANFIC RANT ALERT!!!!NO MORE APOLOGETIC "THIS IS CRAP BUT WHY DON'T YOU WASTE YOUR TIME ANYWAY" AUTHOR'S NOTES. NO MORE. NONE. WHATSOEVER. THE PENALTY FOR DOING SO IS....//No one will read it.
storm_grant: Going Pro 101: The Slasher's Guide To Converting Fanfic To Original Fiction - So you're reading something off the NY Times Best Seller list or Oprah's Book Club or Heather's Picks, and you find yourself struggling to finish the third chapter. This is utter crap! you say. I can write better than this!
schemingreader: a little beta-related kvetching - The first thing I want to say: Constructive Criticism Should Build You Up -
