I always thought that in fiction we often like certain stereotypes. Or archetypes. ... Whatever you might want to call it. I meet a lot of people (me included) who often fall for very similar character types or relationship types all across fandom.

What would be perfect for me would be a simple poll at the end of the story where I could register my reaction. // One box. \"I enjoyed this story. Thank you for writing it.\" That would be perfect.

We do our best to explain to one another the ways in which we see, but words can only do so much.

I've been thinking lately about the line in fanfic between being ambiguous and being confusing, and about how to stay on the first side of that line.

If you feel Wincest is bad/wrong/squicky/untenable, the answer isn't to attack its fans in their own spaces ... , the answer is to create Wincest-free spaces according to your own criteria. The Wincest-friendly people have already done this work

Talking about race, both in and out of fandom, is tricky, emotional, and messy. This is, I think, precisely why it needs to be discussed, even if that talking becomes screaming.

Folks are defending Wincest...by focusing on the argument that it's ..fantasy and thus doesn't have any real world implications. Over in SGA fandom...folks are ...saying what we write does have real world implications, and we should be aware of that.
