cereta: Point of View, Story Archetypes, and Supernatural John Gardner (I think) once said that all novels have one of two plots: a stranger comes to town, or someone goes on a journey. These can, of course, be more metaphorical than literal, and I actually think it's kind of stretching in places, but as basic story tropes go, they're pretty good. What's interesting to me is how these stories break down PoV-wise.

aubrem: slashing gen stories So, I was reading and enjoying this gen story by Greengecko....while reading I was struck by how warped I am. All because of the slash. This story is gen. Well and truly gen. Just ...A slasher who didn't know HP reading this story would start slashing them. I kept expecting the story to slip into slash.
