pornography and fandom - Alan Moore and Melinda Gebbie's Lost Girls is coming out in August. It's basically porn with/about Dorothy, Alice and Wendy. After reading the two part interview, I felt a little bitter. I love Moore, he's a wonderful writer. After Sandman, V for Vendetta and Watchmen are my favorite comics. But this is generally fanfiction and they're treating it as some new and original concept. Half of the things said in the interview are thoughts that have been drifting in zines, BBSes and the Internet for decades.

Where's the canon love? - As far as fandom is concerned, canon is an endangered species.

(though love be a day) - Sometimes I think it would be freeing to be one of those "inscrutable sine curve of his smile" writers, but I find opacity so frustrating as a reader that I usually can't bring myself to indulge in it as a writer (and because it's in character for so few characters), and I can't seem to find the middle ground between that and more straightforward storytelling, though I know it's possible, because so many of you do it so well and I admire that.

But what are your thoughts on yaoi? - Basically, I reached the conclusion that slash was female empowerment. But not in the "women embracing their sexuality" way, or in the "women reclaiming a male-dominated space" way. What I realized that slash was a way for women to seperate their identies from the roles they play in the bedroom.

Another question: MPREG - Those of you who like it, why? And I'm quite serious. I'm not going to read your post and then argue with you about it ("Yeah, but ... yeah, but ... yeah, but..."). I don't read it myself because pregnancy/babies/children don't interest me at all. But I do wonder why those who like it like it, so please, if you like it, and are willing to articulate your reasons, I'm interested.

Blah - It seems like I meet a disproportionately high number of really interesting women on the internet than in real life.

SPN meta: morality, metaphysics, society - I'm not certain what the actual underlying structure of the SPN world is yet. At this point, it's still a little hard to tell whether it's just not been explained to the viewers, or whether TPTB haven't actually thought it all through to an extent that I would consider coherent worldbuilding.
